When I had the opportunity to open a brand new unit from the ground up, I found myself trying to be perfect in every interaction from top leadership all the way to the staff I was leading because I believed perfection meant success. It wasn’t until I stopped and got honest with myself and asked, “Who do I truly want to be as a leader? Am I leading with true intention?” That’s when everything shifted.
